It's what I love the most about Paris, you can plan all want - but the true magic of the city is in what you stumble upon - completely by accident. After a afternoon of rain, blisters and overcrowded metro trains we happened to walk slap bang into 'Vogue's Fashion Night Out Paris' - some of the city's best dressed swanning around in couture as the early evening light glistened off the wet pavements . . . sigh.

I am so proud of Anthea Pokroy for the smashing success of her debut exhibition of 'I collect Gingers' at Circa Gallery in Rosebank. It was truly amazing to literally see the streets of Rosebank crowded with cars coming to see her collection of over 500 ginger photographs. It's been such an honour to watch this project develop and grow. Congrats, Anth!

I think that one of the greatest gifts of film is the ability to see life as we never would have been able to view it with the naked eye, it makes us realize that even the most mundane of actions are constructed out of beauty. For me photography immortalizes this beauty capturing the essence of a moment, forever. Ian Crawford’s ‘splash dresses’ epitomize this . . . and more.

Oh how much I have missed you little blog (and my deepest apologies to my 2.5 readers for being so tardy). Although it finally means that I am finally busy with real work, I do miss this outlet. So without further adieu, here are some of my snaps from SAFW. Always so inspiring to see local talent flourish!

I think that for the first time (in a commercial) South African retail has come into it’s own. Strong, powerful, relevant, international, and beautifully local - I’m a huge fan of Legit’s new commercial. This makes me want to go to Legit far more than an ad on ‘T shirts R29.99’. . . let's pray this starts a trend in local fashion advertising.
Big up Legit!

Ever since Kate Moss stepped out onto the streets of Primrose with THAT pair of tattered denim shorts, I've been a huge fan of the little denim devil - in this case less is definitely more - Add Pete Doherty on one arm and some mud on the other and you have the timeless festival look. So . . . best you start polishing those pins cos this summer the shorts are shorter, the waist lines are higher and the designs bolder.
